I'm Carson, a Computer Science student (with a Minor in Business) at the University of Alberta. My interests in technology began at a young age, and I've always been interested in how computing can be used to reveal deeper insights into the world around us, and be used to change our day-to-day lives. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Computer Science, where I've gained a solid foundation in many aspects of computing science. Alongside this, my business minor has allowed me to explore the strategic and entrepreneurial aspects of the tech industry, helping me connect the dots between technology and its real-world applications. Furthermore, my experiences as a TA have introduced the joy of nurturing the spread of knowledge.
Through my studies, I have developed a keen interest in areas such as software development, data science, low-level programming, and systems engineering. Combining my passion for technology with my business minor (with a particular focus on finance), I've gained valuable insights into how tech solutions can be designed and integrated within larger business frameworks. I'm especially interested in how software, data analysis, and large-scale systems are used to create easy-to-use digital products (such as online investment or e-commerce platforms). My coursework has equipped me with both the technical skills and business knowledge needed to turn ideas into practical, market-ready products.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the endless opportunities in tech and business. I hope to contribute to companies shaping the future of fintech, e-commerce, or investment management, where I can learn from experienced professionals and take part in meaningful, innovative projects. Ultimately, I want to use my skills to bridge the gap between technology and business, creating products and solutions that drive success and benefit society.
